Among the Achievements of the CCWH

1. Brought about the creation of the AHA and OAH committees on the status of women in the professions.
2. Encouraged the dissemination of information on sexual harassment, sexual bias, and exploitation of adjunct and part-time faculty and supported the creation a policy statement by the AHA.
3. Pressed to have women included in the Teaching Division of the AHA.
4. Initiated and funded the AHA's Joan Kelly Book Prize in Women's History and Feminist Theory.
5. Sponsored the first international conference on women's history held in the United States.
6. Established a prize in women's history for the National History Day competition for secondary-school students.
7. Identified universities that provide research facilities to independent scholars.
8. Monitored university policies that affect adjunct faculty, with the goal of improving the status of all women historians.
