The History Department at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in Social Studies and/or History Education. The successful candidate will be one of two faculty in the department whose primary responsibilities include providing courses in Secondary Social Studies methods, supervising pre-service teachers, and other administrative duties related to education accreditation and advising. Additional undergraduate and graduate course offerings will depend upon the successful candidate’s area of specialization in history and/or related field. Candidates whose expertise and/or experience will contribute to the department’s commitment to prepare our students to teach in diverse settings are particularly encouraged to apply. Qualifications include Ph.D. in History, Social Studies or History Education, or related field. Outstanding candidates at the A.B.D. level will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. within one year of initial appointment.
