The Interdisciplinary and Humanities faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts on the Polytechnic Campus, Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for (1) Lecturer for AY 2022-2023. This is an academic-year appointment with an expected start date of August 16, 2022. The successful candidate will teach 4-courses per semester in a variety of modalities (online, on-ground, hybrid) in the undergraduate program in the interdisciplinary field of Military and Veteran Studies; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. This position will have service responsibilities. This Lecturer position is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-tenure eligible position renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Candidate must reside in Arizona, or be willing to relocate.

Required Qualifications:
• Terminal degree in history, leadership studies, social sciences, or field related to veteran and military studies
• Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas and Blackboard (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
• Evidence of excellent teaching effectiveness
• Evidence of commitment to meeting the needs of diverse/underrepresented students in the classroom
Desired Qualifications:
• Two years of direct experience in the military having served in a branch of the U.S. military
• Experience teaching courses in U.S. military or military veteran subjects
• Experience designing undergraduate military/veteran studies courses
• Experience working with and/or teaching military veterans
• Two years postsecondary teaching experience
• Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse/underrepresented students in the classroom
