Visiting Assistant Professor of History, Lebanon Valley College

The Lebanon Valley College Department of Social Sciences seeks a one-year visiting assistant professor of History, for the academic year 2021- 2022, with potential for renewal. The position will have a teaching specialization outside of the United States, Europe, and Latin America, with additional responsibilities in the Social Studies Secondary Education (SSED) Program.

Responsibilities include teaching and advising students preparing for SSED certification compliant with the standards required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The History Program has existing strengths in U.S. and Latin American history. The successful candidate will teach introductory survey courses in ancient history; an intermediate level course or two in their area of expertise; and in our general education program. An opportunity may also arise to teach a course on teaching social studies in secondary education. The typical teaching load at Lebanon Valley College is four courses per semester. The successful candidate will work in close coordination with the Director of Secondary Education.
