The Asia Foundation is seeking a dynamic student currently enrolled in a master’s degree program focused on international development or equivalent for an unpaid semester-long internship from January to May 2020. The Gender Equality Intern will support The Asia Foundation’s women’s empowerment programmatic areas (women’s political participation, economic empowerment, and rights and security); provide support on gender integration activities across the Foundation’s programs; provide editorial and conceptual insights; and assist with logistics and events. The applicant must be eligible to receive academic credit for this internship, have experience working on gender equality and/or women’s empowerment issues, and be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong oral and written communication skills, and interest and preferably experience in Asia. This position will be based in the Washington, DC office.
