Our commitment to member privacy
The Coordinating Council for Women in History (CCWH) knows that you care about how your personal information is protected, used and shared. We take the privacy and the storage of your personal data very seriously, whether you are a member, a guest or merely a visitor to our web site.
By registering with us, you are accepting the policies outlined in this statement. Should we make changes to our policy to keep pace with best practices, we will notify our members so that they may use their own judgment about what they do and do not share. We do not deposit cookies on your computer.
What this policy covers. Our privacy policy covers information uploaded to the Awards Committees, registration and membership pages, profiles, surveys and analytics, orders, purchases and data automatically generated during navigation of this website.
Protected information may include required and voluntary membership information, IP addresses, the location from which the site is accessed, pseudonyms used for blog comments, and traffic data (number of hits, number of unique hits, time on site, pages navigated, log on and log off times.) The CCWH is not liable for third-party practices, such as Amazon, PayPal, or any financial instrument that members may use to purchase memberships or other CCWH service.
Information we ask you to provide. Members joining will be required to provide their names, street address, email address, and membership level. All other profile information is voluntary. Should you cease to be a member, you may request permanent deletion of any personal information related to your membership.
Email addresses will only be used by the CCWH to communicate with its members. Members are prohibited from using emails listed on the website for any purpose not authorized by the CCWH.
The only circumstance under which the CCWH may release information without your authorization is when we believe in good faith that we must comply with a law; enforce or apply our Terms of Use; comply with Internal Revenue Service requests; protect the rights, property, or safety of the CCWH, its officers and its trustees; or act to prevent or respond to fraudulent intrusions on the site. Should we believe that your privacy has been invaded, we will inform you promptly and correct the invasion with all due speed.
Our Commitment To Data Security. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
