The Department of History at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor appointment in Middle Eastern history, to begin August 17, 2016. Specialization is open (circa 600 C.E. to the present). Minimum qualifications: ABD or Ph.D. in history or related fields. Outstanding candidates at the A.B.D. level will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. by the date of hire. Duties include: the World History survey, upper-division courses such as the History of the Middle East and graduate courses in Middle Eastern history. Other duties include advising students and guiding graduate research. A willingness and ability to offer opportunities for students to engage in research projects, fieldwork, or study abroad experiences is also welcome.
Applicants should submit a letter of intent, c.v. , official graduate transcripts, a syllabus for an upper-level course in the applicant’s field of expertise and a syllabus for a survey course in World History, along with three letters of recommendation.
