The History Department at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in Social Science and/or History Education.
The successful candidate will be one of two faculty in the department whose primary responsibilities including providing courses in Secondary Social Science methods, supervising pre-service teachers, and other administrative duties as related to education accreditation and advising. Additional undergraduate and graduate course offerings will depend upon the successful candidate’s area of specialization in history and/or area studies. Candidates whose expertise and/or experience will contribute to the department’s commitment to prepare our students to teach in diverse settings are particularly encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in History, Social Science or History Education, or related area studies. Outstanding candidates at the A.B.D. level will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. within one year of initial appointment.
