The History Department at California State University, Chico is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in post-1900 U.S. History, subfield open, with a demonstrated commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning, including a strong focus on closing equity gaps. All students at Chico State take a U.S. history survey course, and we are looking for candidates committed to first-year student success with a vision for an equity-minded approach to this course. In addition to teaching the U.S. History survey, the successful candidate will also offer new and/or existing upper-division surveys and seminars within the area of specialization. Candidates nearing completion of the Ph.D. may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than August 17, 2022.
