The Department of History at Western Carolina University is searching for an Assistant Professor of Early American History. This is a 9-month tenure-track appointment to begin in the 2022-2023 academic year. They seek candidates who can contribute to the public history program and enhance their offerings in related programs, including – but not limited to – Native American and Indigenous Studies, Global Black Studies, International Studies, and/or Latinx Studies. All full-time faculty in the department teach a 3/3 course load of lower-level liberal studies courses as well as upper-level/graduate courses. Western Carolina University is a 12,000 student campus in the University of North Carolina system that offers more than 120 areas of study for undergraduates and more than 50 graduate-level programs. Ph.D. from accredited institution in History; ABD considered.
Degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
