The Department of History at the University of Miami invites applications for an appointment in African history at the Assistant Professor level (tenure track) to begin August 15, 2023. Region, chronological and thematic research expertise are open. Scholars whose work addresses gender, environmental, medical, transregional history, or Africa and other parts of the world, are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate History courses, closely mentor graduate students, and provide evidence of an ambitious research and publication agenda. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History by the appointment start date.
